XC Coach's Corner

CooperCoach Katie Cooper graduated from Covenant College in 2013 with a major in Middle School Education and concentrations in Science and Language Arts. While at Covenant, she participated in the soccer program and student ministries. After college, Coach Cooper married her high school sweetheart, moved to Georgia, and followed the Lord's leading straight to Dominion. She has felt at home ever since – especially when on the trail with her team.

“Coaching provides an opportunity to see the true character of someone. It allows me to see their strengths, their needs, and their heart. Few situations provide such a special way to share the love of Christ.”

During Cross Country season, Coach Cooper works hard to incorporate life lessons into practices and meets. The team focus is on running God’s race rather than their own. Runners use their God-given talents as a testimony of the abundant blessings given to them. “We encourage our athletes to not only depend on Christ for their strength, but to ‘run the good race’ on and off the course.”
